Job Summary
Seeking applicants for Bozrah, Madison, norwich and old saybrook. This is part time. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will work directly with individuals, particularly those on the autism spectrum, to implement behavioral therapy techniques and support their development. This role requires a strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and the ability to assess and document patient progress while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques.
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate needs and progress, adapting strategies as necessary.
- Provide direct patient care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for individuals with autism.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with special education professionals and family members to promote effective communication and support strategies.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively in documentation and communication regarding patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to behavioral therapy practices.
Qualifications
- Experience or education in special education, psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Degree or Associates degree with previous experience.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with patient care practices, patient assessment methods, and medical terminology is beneficial.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and record keeping.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals on the autism spectrum.
