We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our dynamic team at Pearl Health Center, a family-owned integrated primary and alternative care clinic. In this role, you will provide high-quality mental health services to patients in a holistic and collaborative care environment, working alongside our team of primary care providers and alternative medicine practitioners. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing therapy, and developing individualized treatment plans to support the mental, emotional, and behavioral well-being of our diverse patient population.

This position offers flexible compensation options to suit your preferences:

  • Contracted Rate: Providers earn an estimated $60-65 per hour based on experience and qualifications. Contracted providers are paid at a percentage of the reimbursement rate and enjoy the flexibility of working as independent contractors. Our contracted providers have the freedom to determine their own schedule and caseload, allowing for a personalized work-life balance while ensuring alignment with clinic operations and patient care needs. Please note: Contracted providers are not eligible for the clinic’s employee benefits package.
  • Hourly Rate: Providers earn an estimated $30-36 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Hourly employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, which includes health insurance, paid time off, retirement savings, and more.

Work Schedule & Flexibility

At Pearl Health Center, we understand the importance of work-life balance and flexibility. As a Mental Health Clinician, you have the freedom to negotiate your working hours, allowing you to structure your schedule in a way that best fits your personal and professional needs.

However, because we are an integrated team of providers, we do prefer that our Mental Health Clinician work in the clinic at least 2 days per week. This enables you to collaborate directly with our primary care and alternative medicine teams, ensuring a seamless and holistic approach to patient care.

We are looking for a licensed mental health professional with one of the following credentials:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Key Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

Clinical Expertise

  • Demonstrates proficiency in conducting mental health assessments, diagnosing mental health disorders, and developing treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
  • Ability to provide individual, group, and family therapy, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, etc.).

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of primary care providers, alternative medicine practitioners, and administrative staff to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to coordinate care and communicate effectively with team members regarding patient progress, treatment plans, and any necessary adjustments.

Cultural Competence

  • Ability to work with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds, demonstrating respect and sensitivity to cultural differences and varying perspectives on mental health.
  • Skilled at tailoring therapy approaches to address the unique needs of individuals in a diverse patient population.

Confidentiality and Ethical Practice

  • In-depth knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA regulations, ethical guidelines, and state/federal laws regarding patient confidentiality and mental health care.
  • Strong sense of professional integrity and commitment to providing care in a manner that respects patient dignity and rights.

Diagnostic and Treatment Planning Skills

  • Skilled in conducting comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and formulating individualized treatment plans that are clear, realistic, and measurable.
  • Ability to assess progress and modify treatment plans accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes for patients.

Crisis Intervention and Risk Management

  • Ability to assess and manage crisis situations, including providing immediate support for patients in emotional distress, suicidal ideation, or other high-risk behaviors.
  • Strong judgment in managing high-risk cases and coordinating with emergency services or higher levels of care when necessary.

Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document patient interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans accurately and professionally.
  • Empathetic listening skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and their families to foster a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship.

Supervision and Professional Development (for Associate Clinicians)

  • For licensed associate clinicians (e.g., LMSW, AMFT, LPC-Associate), the ability to engage in self-directed professional development and seek appropriate supervision from a licensed clinician to meet licensure requirements.

Time Management and Organizational Skills

  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting.
  • Proficient in managing patient scheduling, documentation, and other administrative duties while maintaining a high level of care.

Patient-Centered Care

  • Strong commitment to providing care that is respectful, empathetic, and tailored to each individual patient’s needs.
  • Ability to engage patients in the treatment process and empower them to participate in their own healing and well-being.

Knowledge of Integrative and Holistic Health

  • Familiarity with the principles of integrated, alternative, and holistic health practices, and the ability to incorporate these into treatment planning when appropriate.
  • Openness to learning and incorporating complementary approaches to mental health treatment in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
