What are the responsibilities and job description for the Respite Worker position at Pearl Health Clinic?
Respite services are short-term, temporary direct care and supervision services for youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED) intended to relieve a stressful situation, de-escalate a potential crisis, or provide a therapeutic outlet for a youth’s emotional problems. The goal is to prevent disruption of the youth’s placement by providing rest and relief to caregivers and youth while helping the youth to function as independently as possible. Respite services are generally limited to a few hours, overnight, a weekend, or other relatively short time. Services can be furnished regularly. Respite services can be furnished in the youth’s home, another home, a therapeutic foster home, or other community location.
This is an entry level position requiring high school diploma or equivalency.
Responsibilities – Respite Care Worker
- Plan activities for clients to participate in then implement plans while leading a respite group of up to 4 children
- Organize and clean the designated respite care areas after group is compelted for the day.
- Complete documentation for individual clients after group on a daily basis.
- Communicate with the client's parents as needed for cancellations or rescheduling
- Complete inventory of supplies and communicate needs of service line
- Communicate standards of attendance and behavior expectations during planned respite group
- Previous experience working one on one with children is preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.30 - $16.30 per hour
