Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Head Start/Early Head Start Director, the Health/Disability/Mental Health Manager will assist in designing a comprehensive service plan to meet program, state and Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards for the areas of Health/Disabilities and Mental Health. This position will ensure that the program serves a minimum of 10% of children with disabilities each school year. Duties also include writing, maintaining, monitoring, tracking and assuring confidentiality of health/disability/mental health records. This position is responsible for providing services in accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The Manager will ensure health requirements are provided to all enrollees, including expectant mothers. This position is in the Hattiesburg office and is scheduled to work 12 months per year.
Education & Experience:
Minimum – Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
Minimum of four years’ experience working with young children and families in a childcare program or other comparable/schools setting; Must be familiar with the following developmental and behavior assessments Ages & Stages (ASQ) and training, Battelle Developmental Inventory (BDI), and Behavior and Emotional Screenings (BESS 3). Must have knowledge of health services.
Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills.
