What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front of House/Barista position at Pearl's Bagels & Bakery?
Restaurant/ Hospitality experience is required. Pay range includes tips.
We are looking for another star to join our team; someone who has a exceptional work ethic, great initiative, a sense of humor, has a positive attitude, easily adaptable, has incredible attention to detail, enjoys a fast-paced environment and making community connections. We are looking for someone who has outstanding customer service skills. Beyond cashing someone out or making a coffee, we are looking for someone who engages with guests and remembers first names.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Go above and beyond to make our guests feel welcome
- Pack pre-orders before start of service
- Prepare baked goods display before store opens, set-up front-of-house for service, prepare coffee, turn TV menu on, make flavored syrups, pour juice, etc.
- Assemble/ stamp packaging (bags and boxes) throughout the day and restock fully by EOD
- Legibly and accurately handwrite daily specials board
- Clean, sanitize, restock all public-facing areas / FOH numerous times per shift, whenever required
- Utilize TOAST P.O.S. interface to accurately and quickly take orders
- Accurately and quickly handle cash transactions
- Accurately and efficiently make coffee drinks, maintain coffee area, ingredients, equipment, and stock
- Accurately take pre-orders for future pick-up dates and create pre-order boxes / bags as needed
- Quickly and accurately pack baked goods, bagels, and other items for customer orders
- Quickly and accurately run orders to corresponding customers
- Put away deliveries, rotate stock
- Maintain accurate inventory lists
- Take initiative to help other team members
- Thorough knowledge of menu and ingredients / suppliers
- Meticulously clean and restore FOH to customer-facing operations at EOD (includes sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, taking out the trash, cleaning all glass- externally / internally, cleaning all equipment used, etc.)

Pay: Depending on experience, the base pay is $16-18/hr tips. With credit card tips alone, the average hourly rate is $23-$30 . Credit card tips are added directly onto a weekly paycheck. Additionally, service employees receive daily cash tips.
Hours: Hours are subject to change based on the individual skillset and drive of employee. If you are a rockstar, you will be rewarded.
Shifts will be scheduled Wednesday-Sunday from 5:30am-2:30pm. Days will be established upon hiring.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old
- Must have a car or reliable transportation, shifts STARTS at 5:30am
- Must be able to lift 50lbs or more
- Must be able to work in an environment that handles nuts and gluten
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19
- Must have references
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
