Position Overview: Reporting to President and CEO, the Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all the organization’s marketing strategies, website, communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal to consistently articulate PEARLS for Teen Girls’ mission. This person works in collaboration with PEARLS’ leadership team, committees, and Board members to craft the PEARLS’ marketing and communications strategy and ensure that it is aligned with annual goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic oversight of the planning, development and implementation of all marketing and communications, including social media, print and digital content, website, email marketing, public relations, newsletters, collateral, and advertising.
- Develop and implement annual marketing and communications plan, including budget and short and long-term strategies, including measurable goals and objectives.
- In collaboration with the CEO and Director of Operations, develop and help maintain internal communications plan, org-wide project management guidelines and operational system.
- Oversee the daily activities of the Marketing Department including budgeting, planning, and staff development.
- Supervision of Graphic Designer and Business Data Analyst; set performance goals and conduct annual performance reviews.
- Plan and implement the communications matrix for external and internal audiences.
- Create and maintain consistent organization brand/image voice cross product lines, events, and promotional materials, and throughout PEARLS departments.
- Lead development of all collateral materials including videos, brochures, annual reports, and general communications pieces.
- Work in partnership with Director of Program Services on program recruitment and retention communications strategies.
- Work in partnership with Director of Development to support all fundraising events, campaigns, collateral, etc.
- Establish framework and serve as point person for crisis communications.
- Keep PEARLS website current and provide fresh content to maximize user experience.
- Responsible for all organizational interactions on social media, including responding to messages, creating content, and uploading photos.
- Apply various social media tactics in creating brand awareness and generating inbound traffic that strengthens PEARLS’ social media presence.
- Apply various digital analytics and media tracking tools to generate reports on progress of work on social media.
- Put in place measures for recording success in marketing and communication efforts; gather result data and produce reports for the leadership team and board of directors to inform effective decision-making.
- Maintain strong relationships with key internal and external partners, including board-level contacts.
- Write, submit and follow-up to ensure placement on press releases and stories to established contacts with local and regional media. Source and nurture all media contacts.
- Staff Marketing and Communications Committee of the Board and drive engagement of committee to further marketing and communication goals.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field. A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in marketing and/or communications.

- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Strong project management and communication skills, and a successful track record of managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Maintain strong attention to detail, execution, and follow-through of those details.
- An entrepreneurial approach; a strong ability to conceive and implement new initiatives and systems and utilize the power of low-cost resources such as e-mail and social media marketing platforms.
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve, with little direction.
- Proactive thinker, able to anticipate needs and opportunities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with multiple constituent groups including staff, Board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, vendors, and others.

- Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions/improvements.
- Resourceful, able to manage budget cost-effectively and efficiently.
- Good organization skills, timely and prompt.
- Working knowledge of platforms utilized by PEARLS including: Squarespace, Canva, Mailchimp, and Facebook/Instagram/LinkedIn/X.
- Knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite appreciated.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
