Job Overview:
We are seeking an Instrumentation Field Technician to join our Addison, TX team. This role is critical to our business unit, ensuring seamless project execution and direct client interaction. As a key team member, you will contribute to the success of projects and maintain strong customer relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Instrumentation: Start-up, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, including transmitters (flow, pressure, temperature, etc.) and analyzers (pH, chlorine, turbidity, conductivity, etc.).
- Systems Drawings: Read and update Process & Instrumentation (P&ID), Control Loop, and Control Panel drawings. Maintain accurate red-line as-built markups.
- Motor Control Equipment: Troubleshoot 480VAC motor control and distribution systems while following strict safety protocols.
- PLC Equipment: Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC and relay-based systems.
- Equipment Modifications: Perform necessary mechanical and electrical field modifications.
- Computer & Networking: Install and start up computer and networking equipment as needed.
- General Administration: Handle documentation, paperwork, and system updates using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
Qualifications:
βοΈ Education: Technical Associate degree or equivalent training/experience.
βοΈ Experience: 2 years in instrumentation, PLCs, motor control, equipment modifications, telemetry, and networking.
βοΈ Skills:
- Ability to calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain transmitters and analyzers.
- Proficiency in reading P&IDs, troubleshooting 480VAC motor control, and PLC systems.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- βοΈ License: Valid driverβs license with the ability to travel to client sites.
- βοΈ Environment: Ability to work in confined spaces, heights, extreme temperatures, and industrial settings.
Client Interaction & Travel:
- Travel to various client sites as required.
- Maintain professional relationships and collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
Physical & Work Environment:
- Requires manual dexterity, ladder access, and use of hand tools.
- Work conditions include exposure to noise, vibrations, chemicals, moisture, and varying temperatures.
- May involve irregular or extended hours, on-call availability, and travel.
