What are the responsibilities and job description for the BOH Shift Leader position at Pebble Bay Club?
Two or more years of experience as a chef or a lead line cook is required.
Strong ability to multi-task. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to carry food containers, trays and heavy kitchenware, pots and pans. Minimum age of 21. Work well under pressure. Must maintain a positive attitude and to be a strong team player. The Back of the House Supervisor must be inordinately attentive and will be in charge of managing team members in the kitchen during their shift. The BOH Supervisor must be inordinately attentive and be able to open and/or close and properly cleaning the kitchen daily and the smoker room at least twice each weekly is absolutely essential.
Customer Service
- Being attentive to ensure excellent response times and service at all times.
- Must work well under pressure and have stamina during the peak service periods.
- Work with other cooks and chef on proper techniques and presentation standards.
- Assist by observing processes, procedures and written instructions so all line cooks, chefs, kitchen prep assistants, dishwashers and bussers are able to consistently and effectively perform their responsibilities.
- Work with restaurant manager, chef, cooks and others and help with dishwashing.
- Enforce hygiene and sanitation protocols, maintain clean and safe environment.
- Adress issues or concerns related to quality or service promptly and effectively.
- Response times to plate dishes are as critically important as the food we serve.
