Kitchen Prep Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and support the cooking staff in delivering high-quality meals. This role is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience in the food service industry and develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Duties

• Assist chefs and cooks in food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
• Help with cooking tasks as directed, ensuring that all dishes are prepared according to menu specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
• Follow food handling and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Support menu planning by preparing ingredients and assisting with inventory management.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food service practices.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required. on the job training is available . Strong ability to multi- task.
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques are advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to carry food containers, trays, heavy kitchen ware equipment.
• Being attentive to ensure excellent response time and service at all times.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly with colleagues. Maintain a positive attitude and be a team player.
• Work well under pressure and under the direction of shift managers on duties to provide assistant to BOH staff.
• Enforce Minimum age of 18.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• A passion for culinary arts and eagerness to learn about menu planning and food preparation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Contract, Seasonal

Pay: $13.75 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
