The Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting the accounting team with various tasks including the monthly financial close process, preparation of annual department budgets, preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, analyzing business operations and IT systems, and preparing monthly reports.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate in monthly close process by preparing journal entries and corresponding balance sheet reconciliations as well as assist the team with departmental P&L analysis and review.
- Serve as a liaison between IT, operations departments, and Accounting / Finance.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for various departments.
- Act as main point of contact with our current credit card company and research transactions and variances as they arise.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for departmental and companywide processes.
- Assist with special events concession preparation, reporting and reconciliation.
- Identify and recommend improvements in existing systems and procedures in order to reduce costs, paperwork, and workload without compromising quality or accuracy.
- Complete various special projects as needed ranging from resort events, department improvement, system/process updates, financial analysis, GAAP changes and/or internal policy changes.
- Analyze current business processes and provide alternative solutions where applicable.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Required Skills:
- 2-3 years of accounting experience.
- Good organizational and time management skills necessary.
- Thorough understanding of accounting required.
- Analytical skills critical, as well as the ability to manage spreadsheet software, accounting systems,
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn accounting, budgeting, reporting, and operations systems such as Great Plains (previous experience with GP a plus), SMS (Springer Miller), Point of Sale (Retail), Gate America, IG (Info Genesis), and Dataworks in relatively short timeframe.
- Must be able to work in an accurate, organized, and efficient manner. High level of attention to detail and good communication skills required.
Desired Skills:
- College degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Hotel/resort experience preferred.
