What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at PEC?
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to oversee and implement workplace safety programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for identifying potential hazards, conducting safety training, and fostering a culture of safety in the workplace. This person will report to different industrial and construction sites daily to review and enforce safety and OSHA compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Enforce JSA sheets are completed by all foremen daily.
- Maintain JSA sheets for insurance purposes.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Lead investigations of workplace accidents and incidents, providing reports and recommendations for prevention.
- Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing training.
- Maintain records of safety-related incidents, training, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all employees understand and follow safety protocols, using PPE and equipment correctly.
- Collaborate with management and employees to improve safety culture and awareness.
- Stay updated on industry safety standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist in emergency response planning and coordination of drills.
- Work with HR and management to address any employee safety concerns or violations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
- Certification in safety-related programs (OSHA 500, First Aid/CPR, CSP, or similar) is a plus.
- 5 years of Proven experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, OSHA standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to conduct investigations and prepare detailed reports.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Avetta, ISN safety portals
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
