JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of delegating supervision, Associate Medical Director, and COO. APN will provide psychiatric care to a full caseload (based on % FTE) of patients with mental health disorders. The Advanced Practice Nurse is responsible for the delivery of professional care and competent services to adults (possibly some child and adolescent depending upon need and experience) in the areas of psychiatric evaluation, medication management, treatment planning, emergency evaluations in an outpatient setting.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Advanced Practice Nurse is responsible for ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, billing code requirements, complete records in a timely manner using the designated medical record system, and work within their scope of practice. Provide high level quality clinical care to patients with persistent and acute mental health conditions. Other duties include consultation with staff, treatment team participation, and coordination with other professionals. Services may be provided face-to-face, telephonic or telemedicine. Will work collaboratively with nursing staff, case managers, and integrated staff. Monitor vital signs, order and review labs. Help make appropriate referrals to integrated care services. Must be willing to serve as a preceptor for APRN students

Work under little supervision of delegating doctor
Maintain consumer confidentiality and ethical standards
Good effective communication skills among an interdisciplinary team
Strong teamwork and organizational skills
Able to provide services to patients with dual diagnosis such as Developmental Disabilities/Substance Abuse and Mental Illness
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:
Graduate of an approved accredited school of nursing; Masters of Science in Nursing and approved as an Advanced
Practice Registered Nurse by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas is required.
Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Must hold a current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas
Must hold a current, active APRN license with a valid prescription authorization number
Experience: Experience in related field. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
A valid Texas Driver License and good driving record is required along with a copy of a valid auto insurance card.
Must be board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds, sit for an extended period, and reach overhead.
Salary : $57 - $65
