JOB SUMMARY
Performs routine (journey-level) technical billing work. Work involves billing various IDD programs, to include ICF, HCS and TxHML programs. This position has accountability over the client trust accounts and will assist IDD program staff in resolving Medicaid and Medicare billing issues. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Under the direct supervision of the Billing Manager, responsibilities include claims processing, reimbursement work, assisting with maintaining accounts, preparing correspondence, and performing other related work as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Medicaid billing processes and practices specific to IDD services as well as procedures affecting the maintenance of accounting records and automated accounting systems. Skill in the use of a personal computer and related office equipment. Ability to review work for accuracy, to accurately perform detailed numerical work, to make arithmetical computations, and to communicate effectively. Must be able to work to meet deadlines and work with internal and external contacts to solve problems.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: One year experience in office or secretarial position. Familiarity with accounting or bookkeeping principles preferred
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
A valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record is required along with a copy of a valid auto insurance card.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, lift 25 pounds, sit for an extended period, and reach overhead.
