Mental Health First Aid Coordinator

This is a grant funded position.  Current grant ends August 2025.  This position has an office in Granbury but also requires remote work.  Regular travel within the region is required.

DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of the Director of Forensic Services the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Coordinator works to bring awareness to the MHFA Program, increase the number of MHFA training sessions available, and obtain overall training targets in each fiscal year. Responsible for coordinating and delivering MHFA training throughout the community with particular focus on public school district employees, public school resource officers, and university employees within the six-county service area. Required to promote MHFA through radio, television, print media, community events and personal speaking engagements. Must be willing to acquire a certification in at least one MHFA curriculum (Adult or Youth). Responsible for enlisting contract MHFA instructors, coordinating MHFA training events, program record keeping, creating program reports and invoices, and other duties assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in human services field.

Enthusiasm about mental health in the community is required.  Must be comfortable with public speaking and able to build rapport with others. Able to demonstrate the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the general public. 

Must be able to work independently and self-accountable. There are monthly target measures that must be met in regard to number of contacts and training events held.

Experience related to community outreach, community education, and event marketing; public sector experience preferred.

Possess excellent skills in communicating verbally and in writing. Must have good computer skills.

Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor is required.

Must gave a good driving record for the past 3 years.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES: MUST BE ABLE TO BEND, STOOP, KNEEL, CROUCH, SQUAT, LIFT AT LEAST 25 POUNDS, REACH OVERHEAD AND SIT FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD.
