As a Precast Concrete Unit Construction Technician, you will play a crucial role in the design and manufacturing of quality products for various applications, including parking structures, building exteriors, bridges, sports stadiums, and retaining walls throughout Metro New York/New Jersey, Upstate New York, and New England.
Key Responsibilities:
- MIG, TIG, and Stick Welding. Perform welding tasks on steel components based on project specifications and blueprints.
- Quality Control. Ensure all welds meet quality and durability standards.
- Workplace Safety. Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety standards.
- Teamwork. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to understand project needs.
- Process Improvements. Communicate any issues or recommendations for process improvements.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Punctuality and reliability, including proper time clock use and communication with Crew Leader regarding work status and scheduling.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Proven experience as a welder/fabricator, ideally in a manufacturing or construction environment (precast experience preferred).
- Familiarity with MIG, TIG, and stick welding; certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, CAD designs, and using metalworking tools like grinders, plasma cutters, and saws.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to meet deadlines while working independently or as part of a team.
- Proficient in verbal and written English.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
