Job Title: Senior Accountant
Peckham Industries is a family-run business that has been serving the construction industry since 1924. As a trusted supplier of construction materials, products, and services, we strive to deliver value to our customers and communities through our extensive network of hot mix asphalt and ready-mix concrete plants, quarries, and liquid asphalt terminals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly financial statements and analyzing reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and practices.
- Reviewing and approving journal entries for accurate posting to the general ledger.
- Compiling and analyzing data from the general ledger to prepare internal and external consolidated financial statements.
- Providing insights and answers to accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting relevant data.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance within a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Public accounting experience is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is required; skills in Word, PowerPoint, and familiarity with Tableau and/or Vista are a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in professional English.
Work Environment:
This role operates in an office and professional environment, requiring standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. Occasional travel may be required to offices throughout the state of New York and New England.
