The ideal candidate is an experienced municipal law expert with deep knowledge of land use, real estate, public contracts, procurement, labor relations, and regulatory compliance. A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, at least seven years of municipal or related legal experience, and an active CA State Bar license are typical ways to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. Prior experience as a City Attorney, Assistant City Attorney, or outside counsel serving municipal clients is preferred. The annual salary is $289,600, with an excellent benefits package, including CalPERS retirement, a 9/80 work schedule, and relocation assistance.
