Chief Technology Strategist for North America

At PECNA Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America, we are at the forefront of a groundbreaking revolution in sustainable energy solutions. As we establish a state-of-the-art Li-ion battery factory in the thriving Kansas City Metro, we seek a resolute individual to join our dynamic team as the Senior Director of Technology.

The role will oversee all aspects of technology within the IT and OT areas of the Gigafactory, ensuring that our strategy for North America is implemented and adhered to within the facility. This position will lead and develop our in-house and managed resource teams of technical resources to deliver our technology roadmap, maintain and support digital services for business partners, and manage the transition to new platforms.

This role requires experience in agile delivery management, resource and capacity management, both internal teams and external resources and suppliers, to build skills and capacity where needed. The position ensures that we have fit-for-purpose, secure, efficient, and innovative infrastructure and applications to support the organization's needs and those of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible and accountable for uninterrupted daily operations of all technology systems in support of 24x7x365 operations of the DeSoto, Kansas gigafactory
• Provide overall technical leadership and direction to the Gigafactory and the technology team, encouraging controlled innovation and improvement in technology and data systems, processes, and ways of working
• Accountable for technical assurance of in-house Key Objectives and Responsibilities and outsourced platforms and services, ensuring maximum value for money in internal and external development and service management
• Further develop capability, processes, and team structures in managing change, agile software development, rapid deployment, cyber security, data management, and service delivery and assurance
• Ensure North American vision and delivery plan for PECNA technology and digital services transformation is communicated to all business functions, with ongoing delivery transparent and well-communicated across the group
• Accountable for technical assurance of in-house solutions and solutions and services from outsourced suppliers and contractors Service Management, ensuring key technology services are resilient, secure, and scalable, with cyber security, software development, support processes, and systems constantly improved in line with our ISO27001 roadmap
• Collaborate with North American and Japanese counterparts to ensure best-of-class solutions are shared or adopted within the global technology group
• Be initiative-taking in planning, managing risks, identifying, and addressing wider opportunities and threats, using data to inform decisions and improve contributions to business planning and reporting
• Manage overall Technology Group budget, as per business plan, for the Gigafactory
• Empower and develop staff to innovate and improve while maximizing their contribution by setting clear goals, coaching, delegating, and providing appropriate feedback, effectively managing performance, ensuring they get necessary training and development needed
