Phillips Edison’s operating platform provides retail services including acquisition, redevelopment, leasing and management of grocery-anchored retail centers.
What you'll do:
- Conduct regular meetings with internal transactions departments to determine pipeline of projects and develop strategy;
- Perform title and survey reviews and interpretations as needed to support the business;
- Assist with litigation matters such as ADA, contract disputes and similar litigation
- Draft requisite documents such as easements, letter agreements, estoppels and other agreements as needed with the support of the transactions legal team;
- Help manage and coordinate activities for condemnation projects, including, but not limited to obtaining lender and tenant consents, valuation, and negotiating/contesting offer of award;
- Provide legal advice on a wide range of legal issues arising in the operation and management of our portfolio of properties;
- Advise internal departments on issues affecting portfolio of properties;
- Provide advice on various real estate matters; and
- Assist with such other matters as needed to support the VP, AGC and legal team.
What we're looking for:
- A Juris Doctorate preferred.
- Membership in at least one state bar
- A minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience working as a lawyer with a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency with an emphasis in real estate
- Excellent time management, written and verbal communication and strong problem-solving skills
- Track record of success in professional and personal activities
- Proven ability to work as a member of a team.
