What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Feed Mill Supervisor position at Peco Foods?
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Conducts all responsibilities in a manner that aligns with Peco’s vision, mission and core values
- Overall responsibility is to produce and deliver quality feed at a competitive cost.
- Learns to receive all ingredients properly, using correct testing methods and standards, rejecting ingredients that don’t meet Peco standards.
- Learns to maintain accurate inventories of all ingredients and finish feed.
- Learns to manufacture feed properly, keeping feed separate through sequencing, use of proper bins, and proper load-out procedures.
- Have all employees and drivers participate in the company safety program.
- Learns to supervise a delivery operation that maintains adequate farm inventories, and utilizes service techs for final loads. Through communication and planning be competitive in return and reclaim feed.
- Follows all FDA regulations.
- Learns to ensure drivers follow hours of service rules and all other DOT regulations.
- Learns to maintain the company facilities and fleet through proper preventive maintenance.
- Maintains cleanliness of grounds, mill, and fleet.
- Responsible for animal welfare and biosecurity training and compliance in the feed mill department.
- Handles and ensures employees handle various chemicals, vaccines, and medications safely.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations.
- Willing to relocate as needed for promotion opportunities
- Willing to travel to other divisions for training. Travel to other mills when annual inspections are done to participate and gain knowledge of the system.
- Willing to work with other department for training.
- Become proficient in boiler operation and repair.
Physical Demands
- Sitting/standing/walking and driving 100% of the workday.
- Working in normal room environment, outside environment, and in cold, hot, humid, and dusty conditions.
- Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.
- Physically able to climb a ladder at various heights.
