What are the responsibilities and job description for the Box Room - Attendant position at Peco Foods?
Operates a box making machine, familiarity with product codes and packaging requirements, and ability to inspect packaging accurately for damage and defects. Must be able to pass lockout/tagout training and certification. Day shift (750a-5p) and evening shift (450p-2a).
Essential Job Functions/Duties:
Familiar with product codes and packaging requirements associated with each code.
Operate a box making machine and be familiar with all tasks in the department.
Maintain and store packaging materials in a safe and sanitary manner.
Follow the written specification for packaging and labeling products.
Must be able to set up equipment properly, efficiently, & make adjustments as necessary.
Physically inspects packaging materials for defects. Defects would include but not limited to: foreign matter, rips and/or any damage, missing or incorrect labels
Inventory stock weekly; enter information into computer daily; perform housekeeping duties.
Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to immediate supervisor or plant management official. Abnormal situation would be:
-Product tampering
-Willful product adulteration
-Equipment malfunction that may put product wholesomeness at stake.
