BROILER MANAGER

Reports to Live Operations Manager

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Directly supervises at least 12 employees.
• Conducts all responsibilities in a manner that aligns with Peco’s vision, mission and core values
• Overall responsibility is to produce quality broilers at a competitive cost.
• Coordinate all training, planning, monitoring, and scheduling of daily operations to achieve production goals.
• Work closely with broiler technicians and individual contract Producers to monitor production performance and adjust programs to maximize company profit.
• Close communication with the processing plant, live haul, hatchery, and feed mill operations as they relate to broiler production.
• Secure broiler housing to meet the company’s needs and maintain contract housing to company specifications.
• Ensure that all broiler department employees are participating in the company safety program.
• Responsible for vehicles assigned to the broiler department.
• Responsible for animal welfare and biosecurity training and compliance in the broiler department.
• Handles and ensures employees handle various chemicals, vaccines, and medications safely.
• Maintain adequate staffing.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable government agencies and regulations.

Physical Demands:

• Sitting/standing/walking and driving 100% of the workday.
• Working in normal room environment, outside environment, and in cold, hot, humid, and dusty conditions.
• Lifting various weights on an as needed basis.
• Physically able to climb a ladder at various heights.
