Position summary
Reporting to the EHS Manager, through the Safety Supervisor, the Safety Clerk is an entry level EHS Position which offers an opportunity to learn the skills required to advance into multiple levels of the organization. The Clerk serves as an Administrative asset for the plant, independent of other departments. The Candidate must have computer skills, primarily MS Office, the ability to read, comprehend and write English. The ability to communicate, clearly, in multiple settings and with all levels of the organization from New Hires to Senior Management.
Primary Duties are Conducting Daily observations for PPE use and adherence to policy. Review inspection reports for Accuracy, Completeness, update tracking systems /spreadsheets, filing and requesting compliance item via direct conversations, phone calls and emails for all aspects of Environmental, Health & Safety at PECO Foods West Point. Any other tasking as the Supervisor may direct.
Essential Functions
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Organizes and Leads the 1st shift Safety Committee and assists in training development for both
- Provide first aid and triage, transport injured TMs to ER in a company vehicle when
- Clean DMV report, Substance Abuse Test required
- Conduct daily walk throughs of the production areas and perimeter to identify compliance of policy and correction of Safety
- Data entry for all systems to ensure tracking and closure of injury and hazard correction files .
- Inventory and place orders for medical supplies, PPE and other EHS related
- Communicate with and Support the third-party Security
- Administrator New Hire Orientation Safety Training via the Alchemy system per the HR schedule.
- Document and Issue PPE to New hires and replace lost or stolen
- Facilitate and support completion of Work Comp incident investigations, root cause Identification and corrective
Minimum Qualifications
- First Aid Certificate Or Military Field Triage Training and
- OSHA Certifications 10 hr / 30 hr - Current or train to in 180 days of
- CPR / AED Training - Current or train to in 90 days of
- Basic Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Data base entry, Adaptability programs, Alchemy.
- Proven communication and Problem-Solving
- Able to learn, develop and present training to Team Members and Management.(Public Speaking Role)
Preferred Qualifications
- EMT/Paramedic/ Field Medic
- Health and Safety Certification/Experience/Degree
- Knowledge of Alchemy Training System
- Poultry Industry Experience
