Job Overview :
Our client, a leading large-scale manufacturing company in Greenville, SC, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Safety Manager to oversee and lead all health and safety activities within their manufacturing plant. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires someone with significant experience managing health and safety programs in high-speed, consumer products, or similar manufacturing environments.
As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all employees while meeting compliance requirements and improving the plant’s overall safety culture. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of reducing injury rates and associated costs, effectively managing a team, and implementing strategic safety initiatives within large manufacturing settings.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the development, implementation, and management of all health and safety programs within the plant.
- Lead a team of safety professionals, ensuring strong performance and clear communication regarding safety initiatives.
- Continuously assess and improve the safety culture, ensuring buy-in from all levels of the organization.
- Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee injury investigation processes and provide recommendations for corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Partner with department heads to ensure safety is a priority during production, equipment maintenance, and process changes.
- Provide training and mentoring to plant personnel to foster awareness and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reporting, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage safety metrics to track performance and report results to senior management, with a focus on improving key indicators like injury rates and safety-related costs.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments on safety-related initiatives and regulatory compliance.
