Job Overview:
We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented and organized part-time to full-time Accounting Assistant to support our accounting department. This position will involve various administrative tasks, such as creating tax files, logging in procedures, and workflow assignment. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, have basic knowledge of accounting principles, be proficient with accounting software, and have excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain tax files.
- Logging in new tax returns.
- Assigning tax returns to staff according to established procedures.
- Maintain filing systems for financial documents.
- Handle general administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- A degree or in the process of obtaining an accounting or finance degree is a plus.
- Previous experience in an accounting or administrative role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Motivated, self-starter.
