Position Summary
This position is responsible for technical leadership and managing all systems including servers, storage, load balancers, email, and cloud-based applications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage work schedules to ensure maximum system availability, reliability, efficiency, and confidentiality of information systemsIdentity obstacles, issues, and opportunities to increase operational effectivenessAssist with design, deploying and maintain enterprise cyber security effortsMonitor system operations to resolve problems and ensure uninterrupted servicePerform system design, modeling, analysis, troubleshooting and oversightCoordinate and manage the installation of hardware, software, video systems and new constructionResearch and recommend vendor tools to support server, storage, and peripheral devicesBenchmark and recommend solutions based on industry best practices keeping up with technology updates and recommend necessary updates in a timely manner to deliver world-class systems and servicesWrite operations technical specifications documentsInterface and coordinate tasks with internal and external resourcesDevelop disaster recovery and business continuity plansDevelop or maintain a server / database backup / patch schedule and policy, providing regular reportingImplement, manage and evolve an enterprise storage, enterprise server, physical and virtual, capacity management process and strategyConfigure, monitor, and maintain email applications and virus protection softwareConduct operational efficiency reviews focused on the analysis of network performance and identify areas opportunities for improvement standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors, or problemsProvide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputesImplement corporate and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with managementDiscuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and work to resolve problemsTeach and instruct employees in job duties and company policies or arrange for training to be providedEvaluate employees' job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel actionRecruit, instruct and supervise subordinatesInterpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to staffDevelop and review operating proceduresDevelop and maintain a lifecycle management system for software and hardware refreshManage IT systems budget and prioritize funds based on primary department goalsMonitoring the productivity and performance levels of IT employees and conducting performance reviewsResearch new business technologies and IT software to strengthen the organization’s systemsImplement new software programs and computer technologies that support organizational goals and objectivesAssist with maintaining regulatory compliance and certification particularly NERC CIP requirementsAssist with server / storage infrastructure related components during facilities construction projectsAssist with Operational Technology related products / solutions, to include control systems and related componentsAssist with Installing, configuring and maintaining VMWareMaintain the security of confidential informationStay abreast of advances in technologyDemonstrate regular and prompt attendancePerforms other related duties as necessary or assignedSupervisory and / or Leadership Responsibilities

This includes, but is not limited to, effectively communicating organizational policies and other information to subordinates, ensuring that employees have a clear understanding of their responsibilities and ensuring that deliverables are completed as required.
