Monarch Maples Pediatrics is seeking an energetic, flexible, team-oriented individual for our busy St. Albans office. Excellent telephone, customer service and communications skills are a must. This will be a dual role as a Medical Receptionist and a Medical Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients as they arrive at the medical office
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect necessary co-pays or fees
- Maintain patient records and update information as needed
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Perform basic clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, POC testing, and administering vaccinations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health systems
- Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare facilities as needed
- Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and managing medical records
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Participate in continuous training to stay up to date on medical best practices
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care
Skills:
- Knowledge in medical terminology and coding
- Knowledge in basic vital signs
- Familiarity with outpatient clinic operations and pediatrics
- Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach towards patient care
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with phone systems and handling high call volumes
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Type: Full-time or Per Diem
Pay: $$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
