What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant position at Pediatric Health Care Alliance?
We are currently seeking qualified Medical Front Office candidates with Clinical Medical Assistant experience with exceptional customer skills for our evening hour N. Carrollwood clinic.
Days per week will vary based on need and the candidates availability but clinic hours as follows:
- Mon-Fri: 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm
- Sat/Sun: 3:30pm - 7:00 pm
** Additional shifts at other clinic may be requested on a as needed basis.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Prior medical office experience required, preferably in pediatrics
- Clear understanding of medical terminology. Familiarity with insurance preferred
- Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows
- Strong customer service skills and positive attitude
Essential Job Functions:
- Processing correspondence.
- Assisting patients via telephone and in person.
- Referrals.
- Answering telephones, screening calls, taking messages and providing information.
- Maintaining files with referral slips, authorizations and insurance slips.
- Greeting patients and their family members, checking patients in and out.
- Verifying insurance eligibility, scheduling appointments and ensuring patient demographics are current.
- MA duties include: vitals, injections, vaccinations, hearing/vision tests and other duties as requested. (MA's are required to be nationally certified or test within 90 days of hire)
