We are looking for a full-time Medical Lead Billing Specialist to join our customer-focused, supportive billing team.

THE POSITION:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing Supervisor to oversee and coordinate patient account and reimbursement services within our billing department. This is a full-time, regular position where you will play a critical role in ensuring billing accuracy, resolving issues, and providing leadership to a dedicated team.
- Manage ready-to-bill and electronic claim files in the order and billing systems.
- Update new products and product codes.
- Audit invoices in order and billing systems and oversee lost patient resolution.
- Review and resolve CESR's when appropriate.
- Maintain and update insurance company records.
- Review adjustment requests and resolve specific patient issues.
- Maintain and develop work instructions as needed.
- Conduct and report audits to ensure quality and compliance.
- Supervise assigned staff in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Organize and complete departmental, payer, and special projects.
- Act as a "Floating" Biller to assist with backlog by transitioning between payers.
- Provide daily procedural direction and problem resolution to billing staff, including training as needed.
- Supervise and support the billing staff, conducting performance evaluations and assigning work to ensure proper coverage.
- Oversee patient charge posting, billing, and collection operations, ensuring consistent implementation of policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- High attention to detail and demonstrated initiative
- Ability to problem solve and work independently
- Technical skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel
- Previous medical billing experience preferred
- Bright tree experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical coding is a plus.
