What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Pediatric Medicine?
Do you enjoy working with children and families? Are you a hard worker and a team player? We are looking for a Medical Assistant to join Pediatric Medicine. Experience in Pediatrics is preferred but not required. The position does require competency in taking vital signs and administering immunizations and previous experience working in an electronic health record is preferred. We are looking for an individual who can work in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of providing high quality patient and family-centered care.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Assisting Pediatricians in patient care activities, including patient intake, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and administering immunizations
- Preparing examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in electronic health record systems.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as point of care Hemoglobin, Rapid Strep tests and Urinalysis.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Proficiency in obtaining vital signs and administering immunizations.
- Experience providing patient care in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide compassionate care to patients.
-Medical Assistant certification, EMT licensure or equivalent experience is preferred.
