Occupational Therapist Opportunities at Pediatric Specialty Care
We are seeking a high-quality, engaging Occupational Therapist to join our team at Pediatric Specialty Care in Point Pleasant, PA.
Job Summary
This part-time position involves administering skilled occupational therapy treatments to ensure the highest degree of quality care for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a state-specific Occupational Therapy license and two years' experience in occupational therapy, preferably with geriatric and subacute populations.
Responsibilities:
- Initiates skilled occupational therapy treatments in accordance with physician's orders
- Maintains written evaluations, progress notes, MDS records, and discharge summaries for individuals in occupational therapy program
- Confers with other healthcare staff regarding special needs of individuals to enhance rehabilitation or maintenance of function
- Provides input for Care Planning meetings and attends during absences of the Director of Occupational Therapy
- Maintains statistical records of individuals' treatments
- Assists with in-service training programs upon request
- Records and updates individual's care plan
- Submits requisition for supplies needed in the treatment of individuals to Director of Occupational Therapy
- Assumes all duties of the Director of Occupational Therapy, if applicable, during absences including supervision of COTA's and Occupational Therapy Aides
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved school of occupational therapy required
- State license to practice occupational therapy required
- Two years' experience in occupational therapy preferred
- Interest in occupational therapy treatment programs for the geriatric and subacute populations utilizing a team approach
- Ability to direct others necessary
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing required
- Current, valid CPR/BLS credential
- Sense of responsibility and ability to work well with residents, families, and other staff members required
- Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others required
- Ability to work with geriatric and chronically ill residents, as well as other professionals in a friendly and helpful manner necessary
- Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required
