The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of nursing is seeking a 100% Licensed Practical Nurse to work at the Pediatric Specialty Clinic.
Duties to include:
- Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse
- Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients
- In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
The Pediatric Specialty Clinic offers comprehensive care to patients from infancy through adolescence and for certain chronic diseases into adulthood. Our 34 exam rooms were opened in 2017; an additional 20 rooms are anticipated to open in 2018. This clinic focuses on multiple pediatric specialties including allergy/pulmonary/immunology, cardiology, genetics, neurology, renal, urology, diabetes, endocrine, gastroenterology, psychology, rheumatology, general surgery, and pain and palliative care. This unit has many state-of the art facilities including five echocardiography rooms, exercise lab, pulmonary function lab, EEG lab, two treatment rooms, and a phlebotomy lab
Percent of Time: 100%
Salary: $43,680.96 per year

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
