Job Summary
Pediatric Therapeutic Services is seeking a skilled School-Based Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As an independent contractor, you will provide speech and language services to students from preschool through high school, supporting their communication needs and helping them achieve academic success.
The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of speech and language disorders and evidence-based intervention strategies. They will be able to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, parents, and other school staff, to support student progress.
About the Job
Reports to: Director of Special Education
Type: Full-Time, Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose students with speech and language impairments, developing individualized treatment plans.
- Provide speech and language therapy services, utilizing evidence-based practices to address speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress and participate in IEP meetings to contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and treatment, preparing reports and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
- Stay current with advancements in speech pathology through ongoing education and training, attending workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to the field.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Prior experience in a school setting is highly desirable, with experience working with a diverse student population.
