Pediatrics in Brevard is seeking a compassionate, professional, and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The Pediatric LPN will provide nursing care to pediatric patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or healthcare provider. Key responsibilities include administering medications, performing routine medical procedures, and supporting the well-being and comfort of children. Additionally, the LPN will play a vital role in educating families about pediatric healthcare needs, fostering a caring and informative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of patients' treatments, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to the medical code of conduct guidelines.
- Schedule patients' appointments with the pediatrician, update them on any changes, and inform the doctor of their arrival and waitlist status.
- Discuss patients' health history for form completion.
- Prepare treatment rooms for consultations.
- Assist in preparing patients for exams, obtaining medical history, and conducting initial assessments.
- Record vital signs and updates to patients' medication history.
- Perform routine screenings and laboratory tests (e.g., urine dips, strep screens, flu tests).
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments as directed by the provider.
- Conduct tests and immunizations following pediatrician instructions.
- Clean and sanitize exam rooms after patient visits.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and HIPAA regulations.
- Facilitate patient check-ins and check-outs at the clinic.
- Adapt to other duties as assigned by healthcare providers or clinic management.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- LPN certification with at least three years of experience in the field.
- A natural enjoyment of working with children and the ability to create a positive environment for them.
- Must be reliable and proactive in fulfilling responsibilities.
- Patience and Persuasion: Essential for managing and guiding children, especially when they are resistant or hesitant.
- High standards of conduct and appearance are required.
- Willingness to travel locally as part of the job.
