Job Overview

Duties

- Provide education and support to families regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
- Perform medical imaging procedures as necessary and interpret results to guide treatment decisions.
- Manage infectious disease care by following infection control standards and protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care in various settings, such as hospitals and outpatient clinics.
- Participate in triage processes to prioritize patient needs effectively.
- Maintain accurate medical records using appropriate medical terminology and documentation standards.
- Stay updated on current best practices in pediatric nursing and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing with a specialization in the pediatric nurse practitioner program.
- Current certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP) or equivalent licensure.
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and practices related to pediatrics.
- Experience in home care or nursing home settings is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with infection control measures and ability to implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients and families clearly.
- Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong leadership skills when needed.
