Responsibilities
The MPL Claims Coordinator assists with the administrative and day-to-day functions related to Pediatrix’ Medical Professional Claims & Liability program.
Responsibilties
- Manages the department’s General Inbox
- Manages the Risk Help Line (phone)
- Manages matters received through the company’s Registered Agent, CT Corp
- Manages departmental calendar
- Documents Adverse Occurrences/Risk Matters reported by healthcare practitioners (via phone and email) in claims management system
- Maintains Intake Log for all legal matters sent to department
- Coordinates all recurring meeting and conference call requests
- Processes mail (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
- Processes check requests for the department
- Conducts Expert Witness conflict checks and maintains log
- Updates department SharePoint site
- Reviews Subpoenas and Attorney Requests for Medical and Billing Records
- Creates Supplemental Claim Forms
- Processes Captive funding requests for all medical malpractice claims bills and settlements
- Performs other assigned duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience/Education:
Experience in Legal and/or Risk Management experience required.
Minium of Associates Degree
Software:
MS Office Proficiency
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered
