Established in 1986, Pee Dee Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to the reduction of sexual assault, family violence, and child abuse and the needs of victims.
Job Summary
The Children's Program Coordinator provides counseling and advocacy services to sheltered children under the direct supervision of the New Beginnings Shelter Program Director.
Victim Assistance
- Assess client needs and coordinate services as needed.
- Provide advocacy for children's needs, such as school clothing, school supplies, haircuts, birthdays, and holidays.
- Provide advocacy services to pregnant women who come into the shelter and have nothing for their new baby.
- Provide individual crisis and support group counseling for children.
- Document all services promptly and complete necessary reports as scheduled.
Inter-Agency Coordination
- Represent Pee Dee Coalition and actively participate in related community task forces, committees, etc.
- Maintain current information on available services and agency personnel for service access.
Community Education, Training, And Awareness
- Assist with the development of information and/or training materials.
- Provide community education and awareness on the issues of domestic violence and program services as assigned.
General Responsibilities
- Be familiar with grant goals and objectives and ensure required services and documentation compliance.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures outlined in the Program Procedures Manual and Personnel Policies.
Requirements
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, or Elementary Education. Advanced degree preferred.
