Distribution Supervisor

Position Title: Cold StorageDistribution Supervisor

Location: Edinburgh Indiana

Reports to: Operations Manager

Position Summary:

Supervise the distribution team to meet shipping, receiving, and inventory requirements. This position is responsible for the organization, scheduling of staff, and directing of shipping, receiving, and storage areas on a day-to-day work plan. Adjusting schedules as necessary in all work areas to ensure effective and efficient processing, responsible for the accuracy of receipts and shipments, and that all food safety guidelines are followed. Coordinates all activities and trains personnel. Works closely with both internal and external customers to ensure customer satisfaction. Works closely with the purchasing department to ensure accuracy and timely reporting of inventory. Works closely with production departments to ensure effective and efficient processing. To provide a safe, clean, and healthful work environment for yourself and other team members. This position may operate material handling equipment including manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, pallet rider jack, stand-up double reach truck, stand-up forklift, and yard spotter tractor.

Essential Job Functions (Listing most important first):

• Responsible for the daily scheduling of personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to select and receive products in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
• Directs the day-to-day activities of shipping and receiving.
• Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed.
• Responsible for safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for associates.
• Effective communications, as needed with both internal and external customers and co-workers
• Training Employees
• Works closely with other departments to ensure effective and efficient operations.
• Responsible for accurate reporting, and resolution of inventory discrepancies.
• Audit Shipping and Receiving documents.
• Project management
• Efficient and effective use of Warehouse Management System

Essential Job Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Management preferred.

Experience:

• Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in leading associates
• Two (2) to five (5) years experience in distribution
• Two (2) to five (5) years project management
• Two (2) to five (5) years Warehouse Management Systems (Datex-FootPrint) experience

Require Skills:

• Knowledge of distribution functions (Shipping, Receiving, and Inventory)
• Strong Communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong people skills
• Good record-keeping skills and must pay attention to details
• Ability to read and speak English proficiently
• Intermediate computer skills, mechanical and mathematical skills
• Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and customers
• Flexible with the ability to work independently and with minimal guidance
• Logical and methodological approach to problem solving
• Ability to Multi-Task, manage the priority of tasks, and switch between tasks as needed
• Training and certification are required to operate Material Handling Equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Excellent physical health is required. Work is physically demanding and requires lifting, bending, walking, standing, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms; stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
• Working in refrigerated cooler (28 degrees)/freezer (0 degrees) temperatures
• Ability to operate Material Handling Equipment
• Noise level is usually moderate
• Employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
