What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Counselor position at Peer Solutions Ohio?
The Mental Health Counselor will provide counseling services including but not limited to individual therapy sessions, diagnostic assessments, and treatment planning.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to understand client’s needs.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on client’s needs and diagnosis utilizing evidence-based practices, clinical experience, and patient history.
- Facilitate one-on-one therapy sessions, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help client’s gain insight and knowledge to their mental health, address their concerns, and achieve their goals.
- Review and evaluate patient progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.
- Collaborate with fellow clinicians and staff to ensure holistic care and coordinated treatment approaches.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and progress notes in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
- Stay current with the latest developments in mental health research and therapy practices, integrating new insights into your sessions.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Professional Counseling or Social Work degree preferred.
- Current valid state license to practice as a therapist in Ohio (LPC or LSW).
- Experience conducting group and individual therapy sessions
- Knowledge and experience in diagnosing a variety of disorders utilizing the DSM-5-TR.
- Understanding of various therapeutic modalities and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse client populations.
- Empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach to therapy.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
