What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metal Finisher position at Peerless Chain?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
There are three areas of assignment for Metal Finishers. As directed by supervisory personnel, essential job functions by area include:
HEAT TREAT (LG 4)
From written or verbal instructions, performs duties in the Heat Treating Department for Mesh Belt, Auto Cutter and/or Post Heat Treat Calibration/Proof test under the direction of the Supervisor or Heat Treat Class I/II. Prepares products for heat treating, assists in loading and unloading, performs test procedures, etc. Assists Heat Treat Class I/II in performance of duties necessary to ensure a quality product. Maintain production records.
GALVANIZING CLEANER (LG 4)
From written or verbal instructions, performs all aspects of the Galvanizing Cleaning operation including but not limited to transfer and loading, tank processing, Continuous Shot blaster, unloading and preparation for the Galvanizing Kettle process. Maintains solutions as required. Performs preventative maintenance on the Galvanizing Cleaning equipment including tanks, chemical contents and other related devices. Work performed under the guidance of the Continuous Galvanizer Operator.
OPERATOR – VIBRATORS, TUMBLERS (LG 4)
From written or verbal instructions, operates all types of deburring, cleaning, finishing, polishing, tumbling, and vibrating equipment. Loads and unloads barrels, adds cleaning or polishing materials as required.

- Accurately complete process and quality documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Work with limited supervision.
