What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly Operator position at Peerless Winsmith?
Position Summary
The Assembly Operator is responsible for assembling a wide variety of gear boxes. These gear boxes are assembled using high quality components and following engineering designs. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform efficiently at line speed on all assembly work stations
- Pull parts from inventory stock and stage assembly orders for building
- Comply with all ISO 9001 assembly quality procedures
- Read and interpret assembly routers and drawings
- Able to place component parts into a storage system
- Capable of performing at rates set by pre-determined time standards
- Required following all safety rules, use of proper PPE, and report any safety concerns
- Perform all operations necessary to evaluate rejected speed reducers and determine the appropriate repair method
Experience and Education Required
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read various measuring equipment including scales and dial indicators
- Mechanical ability
Technical Skills
- Ability to use various hand tools, hydraulic presses, air wrenches, electric motors, air gauges, bearing pre-load press, parts washer, and arbor press
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects from 10-50 pounds
- Flexible and overtime sometimes required
- Requires standing continuously and walking occasionally through the day
