What You Will Do
- Lead daily warehouse operations, including labor scheduling, resource management, and execution across all shifts using company tools and KPIs.
- Hire, train, and develop team members, providing regular coaching, performance feedback, and succession planning in partnership with senior leadership.
- Supervise and guide department personnel, ensuring team performance meets goals; approve PTO, manage attendance, and support employee engagement through regular communication and morale monitoring.
- Drive operational goals across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people development in shipping and receiving.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, and materials departments to meet fulfillment KPIs and ensure timely, accurate shipments.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, using stretch goals and performance metrics to identify and implement process enhancements.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and space utilization by designing and implementing inventory control policies, programs, and training.
- Collaborate with safety coordinator on workplace safety and compliance, conducting audits, inspections, accident investigations, and ensuring alignment with GMP, HAACP, OSHA, AIB, and food safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse facilities and assets, coordinating repairs, access/security systems, and racking/facility upkeep.
- Analyze and report performance metrics, including KPI tracking, documentation, and commentary for leadership.
- Lead problem-solving efforts, implementing short-term containment and long-term corrective actions for shortages, shipment issues, and process gaps.
- Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage real-time inventory tracking, order fulfillment, and location accuracy.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, verify overstock, and manage inbound receipts, inter-warehouse transfers, and internal inventory movements.
- Maintain comprehensive shipping and receiving logs, ensuring accurate documentation of all inbound and outbound activity.
- Review, provide input, and support systems initiatives to improve operating efficiencies and inventory control, including testing and feedback on new tools or process enhancements.
- Ensure the fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures, supporting a positive, compliant workplace culture.
- Select appropriate shipping methods, prepare manifests, and ensure proper documentation for outbound orders in coordination with shipping and logistics partners.
- Support smooth shift transitions by preparing supply orders, coordinating order staging, and aligning shift leads for effective handoffs.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts as needed and assist with physical warehouse tasks to ensure operational continuity.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, including motivating teams, driving urgency, and making timely, effective decisions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate effectively across departments and platforms (email, meetings, presentations)
- Conflict resolution and performance accountability expertise
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to participate in and provide feedback on cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP/reporting systems (D365 preferred)
- Working knowledge of warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.); forklift certification preferred
- Familiarity with manufacturing environments, warehouse procedures, and inventory control practices
- Ability to read and interpret packaging, shipping documents, and safety guidelines

- 5–7 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations or logistics, ideally within a manufacturing or food production environment.
- 5 years in a supervisory or management capacity, overseeing teams and multi-shift operations.
- Inventory control systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) — D365 experience preferred.
- Shipping & receiving processes, including manifest preparation, labeling, and documentation.
- Safety compliance (OSHA, GMP, HAACP, AIB).
- Experience managing cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and space utilization.
- Material handling equipment; forklift certification is strongly preferred.
