What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Data Engineer position at Peet's?
Since 1966, when Alfred Peet opened the first Peet's Coffee in Berkeley, California, our mission has remained the same : to achieve the perfect cup. Today, we still stubbornly follow the same practices as Alfred Peet himself : Meticulous selectivity at origin, roasting each small batch by hand, and a commitment to delivering coffee to stores obsessively fresh.
Peet's is a fast-paced environment, at an extremely exciting time of expansion.
Peet's Coffee and Tea is seeking a Sr. Data Engineer to lead all aspects of data infrastructure and data lifecycle tasks. The Sr. Data Engineer will manage and maintain scalable data pipelines and build out new integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity. The candidate's primary responsibilities will center around data infrastructure and ETL / ELT processes : designing and implement data pipelines, managing data warehouse security and administration, exposing and deploying machine learning models to production, and ensuring data quality and consistency across various sources. Additionally, the successful candidate will be an exceptionally strong communicator, team player, creative problem solver and technically savvy. The candidate will need to be comfortable wearing multiple hats - working on tasks such as direct engagement and communication with non-technical audiences, resolution to production data pipeline errors, development of Power BI reports using UI best practices, and implement sound SDLC processes for version control and CI / CD. The Sr. Data Engineer will engage with business, IT and digital product management teams as a thought partner.
