Child Care Worker

Summary of Position:

We are seeking energetic, motivated individuals to provide structure, supervision, and positive role modeling skills to male residents ages 10 to 17 in a therapeutic residential treatment setting.

Both novice and experienced individuals are welcome to apply. Starting pay without experience $14/hr. Paid orientation and job training provided, including CPR, First Aid and C.P.I.

The greatest attribute of a staff member at Pegasus is POSITIVE ROLE MODELING. The program can be learned, as ample training is provided. Some of the best staff we employ had no prior experience whatsoever in this field. They simply brought a caring for kids, a strong work ethic, strong moral character, and a willingness to portray these characteristics to the boys.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and support to residents in a residential setting.
• Assist with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Monitor and document resident observations, reporting any changes in condition.
• Ensure a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
• Maintain First Aid and CPR certifications, responding to emergencies as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance the quality of care provided.

Qualifications:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have Driver’s License/Identification Card
• Must have High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Must have reliable transportation

Schedules (first come first serve, based on what is available):

• Sunday- 6am-10pm
• Monday- 2pm-10pm
• Tuesday- 2pm-10pm
• Wednesday- 2pm-10pm

• Wednesday- 2pm-10pm
• Thursday- 2pm-10pm
• Friday- 2pm-10pm
• Saturday 6am-10pm

Requirements:

Per Department of Family and Protective Services, you must be at least 21 years old to be considered for hire. A criminal background check will be conducted on every employee by DFPS and Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD). Also, a fingerprint check will be conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. You must be cleared by all four agencies prior to employment.

In addition, applicants will need to obtain a clear TB Skin test, and complete a pre-employment drug screening.

Pegasus Schools, Inc. is located on a 105 acres country setting just 3 miles south of Lockhart, Texas. We have lots of outdoor activities including but not limited to ropes/challenge course, climbing tower, zipline, putt-putt golf, swimming, fishing, kayaking, and many more!
