What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compound Press Technician position at Pegasus Steel - Keel?
Responsible for performing compound forming.
- Programs the machine from blueprints to process plate.
- Accountable for the safety and well-being of the employees assigned to her/his team.
- Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the 5S housekeeping system within the assigned work cell(s).
- Accountable for delivering a product that meets the customer's (external or internal) specification.
- Promotes teamwork within department.
- Troubleshoot and determine corrective action for machinery when necessary.
- Working knowledge of all subordinate positions in order to fill in when needed.
- Ensures all documentation are completed accurately and are turned in on time.
- Provides direction and assistance in ISO 9001 related activities.
- Must have 5 years of Press Brake programming from blueprints experience in the steel fabrication or processing industry.
- Must be able to be certified for forklift and crane operations and maintain this certification annually.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with outside sources in written and verbal formats.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and maneuver 200lbs independently.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED minimum requirement. Must have 5 years of experience operating a press brake.
