What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Custodian position at Pegasus Steel - Keel?
- Maintain cleanliness of facility.
- Performs duties safely.
- Clean, sweep, organize production, office and general areas within the manufacturing facility.
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of manufacturing areas.
- Dispose of waste materials generated during manufacturing processes in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
- Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), and other consumables necessary for custodial duties.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to cleanliness and sanitation.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of cleaning activities, inspections, and maintenance tasks performed, and report any deviations or issues to appropriate personnel.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with production staff, maintenance technicians, and other stakeholders to address cleanliness-related concerns and support overall operational efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to effectively communicate with outside sources in written and verbal formats.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and maneuver 200lbs independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The associate is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently and maneuver up to 200 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions - hearing protection is required, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area.
