What are the responsibilities and job description for the Press Brake Operator position at Pegasus Steel - Keel?
Description:
Responsible for providing daily direction to a small team of associates with the support of Team Leader. Serves as the first level within the leadership team structure and is central to the operation of the facility.
- Programs from blueprints Bend/Brake CNC Pacific and/or LVD 320 tons, 850 tons, and 1500 tons machines to processing armor/steel plates.
- Accountable for the safety and wellbeing of the associates assigned to her/his team.
- Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the 5S housekeeping system within their assigned work cell(s).
- Accountable for delivering a product that meets the customer's (external or internal) specification.
- Responsible for providing training to the associates that is specific to the work instructions for the product being manufactured.
- Accountable for delivering the required product to the customer (external or internal) on time. A 100% on time delivery rating is the expectation.
- Promotes teamwork within department.
- Troubleshoot and determine corrective action for machinery when necessary.
- Working knowledge of all subordinate positions in order to fill in when needed.
- Ensures all documentation are completed accurately and are turned in on time. In the event that this task is delegated, Supervisor must ensure that the task is completed.
- Provides direction and assistance in ISO 9001 related activities.
- Prefers a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Must have 3 - 5 years of CNC Press Brake programming from blueprints experience in the steel fabrication or processing industry.
- Must be able to be certified for forklift and crane operations and maintain this certification annually.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with outside sources in written and verbal formats.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs and maneuver 200lbs independently.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED minimum requirement. Must have experience operating a press brake.
