What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Crib Attendant - 2nd Shift position at Pegasus Steel - Keel?
Inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment.
- Inventory, order, and maintain adequate supplies of welding consumables.
- Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage.
- Keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system.
- Orders new tools and equipment or request repairs as needed.
- Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
- Issue NAVSEA weld wire per procedure.
- All other duties as assigned
- Has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of fabrication and tools.
- Minimum of three years of welding experience
- Ability to work in a team environment successfully
- Must perform tasks safely as instructed orally and in written format
- Ability to read and speak English
- Must have knowledge of the metric system
- Ability to maneuver up to 200 lbs. independently
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to read measuring tape and calipers
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; three years related experience.

Forklift Certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The associate is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds independently and maneuver up to 200 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions - hearing protection is required, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area.
