Locksmith – El Paso Service Processing Center and Co-Location - El Paso, TX
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for installing, repairing, modifying, and opening a variety of locking mechanisms
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes keying system for buildings.
- Examines locking mechanism and installs new unit or disassembles unit and replaces work tumblers, springs and other parts or repairs them by filing, drilling, chiseling, and grinding.
- Opens door locks by moving lock pick in cylinder or opens safe locks by listening to lock sounds or by drilling.
- Makes new or duplicate keys, using key cutting machine.
- Changes combinations by inserting new or repaired tumblers into lock.
- Opens safe locks by drilling.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum requirements for this position include a High School Diploma or equivalent GED plus experience in mechanical and/or carpentry with a minimum of one year as a locksmith apprentice. A valid Texas Driver’s License, and ability to pass a Department of Homeland Security background check is required. Experience responding to and completing repairs on Maintenance Work Orders.
