Description
1st shift Production- Component Parts Washing Associate is needed in our South Bend, Indiana location. Come work for an awesome employer that values their employees. This state-of-the-art facility is very clean and environmentally controlled.
Parts/Component washer will be a self-motivated team player, who has the flexibility to adapt the workload as customer changes are communicated and evolve within the day-to-day operations. They have the skills to successfully work with others and ensure parts meet customer satisfaction.
Position involves pulling components on Work Orders for connectors that are to be washed prior to assembly in the production room, then running them through the appropriate wash and dry cycles as specified in the Work Instructions.

Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (Needed/desired for this Position)
High School Diploma or GED Preferred or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Communication skills; Ability to communicate with peers, superiors, and management.
Ability to fluctuate schedule as deemed necessary by management or as the workload requires.
Willingness to obtain knowledge of product and process.
Ability to follow directives as set forth by superiors and/or management.
Good hand/eye coordination.
Ability to pay close attention to detail.
Must be a team player.
TECHNICAL and/or MANAGERIAL JOB COMPETENCIES – (Specific Job Proficiencies and Skills)
- Must have strong organizational skills
- Must have the ability to properly deal with chemicals
- Must be able to measure in Grams
- Basic understanding of a Work Order’s Bill of Material
- Basic understanding of a connector and its various components
- Strong understanding of simple mathematics.
- Complete understanding, set-up and use of Weigh/Counting Scales and other equipment, measuring devices applicable to job function
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Complete daily assignments efficiently and accurately to assure the integrity of the inventory
- Maintain your work area in a clean and orderly manner adhering to basic 5S principles “SORT, STRAIGHTEN, SHINE SYSTEMIZE and SUSTAIN”
- Ability to Read, understand and follow work orders, specifications and “special” instructions as outlined on the work orders.
- Read, understand and complete all production department documentation and work instructions to the PEI-Genesis ISO9001 and AS9100 standard.
- Ensure that training is up to date and recognize the need for additional and/or continuous training
- Perform Daily Maintenance per prescribed requirements
- Work orders must be completed daily to meet Facility Promise Date and Cycle Time metrics
- Ensure that the quality of product has met the PEI-Genesis and ISO 9001: 2008/AS9100C: 2009 standards
- Ability to fluctuate schedule as deemed necessary by management or as the workload requires
- Must be able to ensure that all work orders have been completed within the time allotted by management
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Manual lifting up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with assistance).
- Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8 hours of the day.
- Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours.
- Be able to reach overhead with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.
- Ability to Grip/Grasp at least 8 hours of the day.
